PreK4 – 2nd Grade: Early Math Foundations

Your youngest learners embark on a delightful mathematical journey.

Two days a week they’ll work in a small group setting to build basic math concepts, number recognition, and early problem-solving skills.

Starting in PreK4, kids get hands-on with math foundations, learning to count, recognize numbers, and solve simple problems—all while having fun.

All of our elementary math classes use the Math-U-See program as the foundational curriculum.

2nd – 5th Grade: Building on Basics

For our upper elementary students, we offer fantastic homeschool support. Continuing with the Math-U-See curriculum, our classroom instruction is designed for kids 11 and under.

The TEACH Cleburne Team covers all the basics in a fun, engaging way. Students build on the basics as we dive into multiplication, division, and fractions.

All elementary grades follow the same daily block schedules. You’ll see a lot of movement during math time, as students head to the math level that matches their abilities rather than their age.

To ensure your student thrives, all incoming elementary students are required to take a placement test prior to registration.

Middle School: Advanced Arithmetic to Algebra

Our middle school math classes offer structured learning, perfect for students ready to lean into more rigorous math lessons.

Some students might do well with a more generalized math class throughout middle school. Others might be ready for Pre-algebra and Algebra 1.

Whatever level your student is at, our expert math teachers are here to help boost their problem-solving confidence as they get ready for high school math classes.

High School: Getting College Ready

Our high school math classes cover a comprehensive curriculum including Algebra, geometry, and calculus. Students will develop a strong foundation in these subjects, preparing them for college and beyond.

They’ll learn to apply math concepts to real-world problems and develop analytical skills through our Personal Financial Literacy Class.

Frequently Asked Questions:

1. Can my child take just math classes at TEACH?

Yes. Families may enroll in one class or build a larger schedule based on their needs.

2. Can my child take just math classes at TEACH?

Throughout our elementary math classes, students follow the Math-U-See curriculum for a cohesive approach to math from PreK-6th grade.

As student’s move into PreAlgebra, Financial Literacy, Geometry and High School level math classes, teachers choose each curriculum. You can see what curriculum is being used for the current school year in the current catalog.

3. What grade levels are offered?

Age appropriate homeschool math classes are offered for students from PreK4 – 12th grade.

4. Do students receive homework?

Yes. As with all of our classes, the teachers present the new material and provide assignments. Students are required to complete their practice assignments at home the other 3 days of the week.

5. What if my child is ahead/behind a grade level in math?

One of the best reasons to homeschool is to be able to meet your children where they’re at. If they thrive in math, they might be ready to move up a grade level or 2. If they struggle with math confidence, they can learn with students at the same math level rather than be confined to a specific grade level.

6. Is the curriculum faith-based?

TEACH was founded on biblical principles. However, math curriculums are chosen for their rigor rather than a specific faith focus. As with all classes at TEACH, families can expect a wholesome, family-friendly environment. For specific faith-education classes, explore History of the Bible at the HS level and Bible Club for elementary students.
