Texas A&M Chemistry Road Show

August 22 @ 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm

Chemistry professor with dry ice steam presentation in front of grop of school children

We’re so delighted to have Dr. Pennington from the Texas A&M Chemistry department bring the Chemistry Roadshow to TEACH Cleburne. If you’ve ever wondered how someone could make science full of fun and laughter, this is how!

Dr. Pennington will present our elementary students with a fun and exciting 90 minute show. Dr. Pennington shares:

Using sensory impact, we hope students will learn that:

  • chemistry, unlike magic, is comprehensible
  • they already comprehend some of it
  • chemistry is a human activity, one that real people love and find exciting
  • chemistry and chemicals, like any other kind of knowledge and technology, are safe and beneficial when used carefully and intelligently

Most of all, we hope students will remember the excitement and surprise they feel during our demonstrations.

NOTE: Due to insurance regulations for the A&M Chemistry Roadshow and the size of our elementary student body, no parents or siblings will be able to attend the presenation. Dr. Pennington visits local libraries throughout the summer. If you’d like to view the presentation, keep an eye on the Cleburne Public Library calendar for his next visit.
